Important Notice Concerning Future of APM

Important Notice

It is with great regret that we announce discontinuation of the Asia Pacific Memo (APM) effective April 28, 2017. Operations from our current home base at the Institute of Asian Research at the University of British Columbia will come to a halt at that time.

We seize this opportunity to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all our devoted readers and precious contributors over the years. Without you, the APM would not have grown into the thriving knowledge dissemination platform it is today. Since its inception in 2010, the APM has always strived to keep evolving with one primary purpose; addressing contemporary issues of the Asia-Pacific region through an academic lens in an accessible and engaging manner.

Even though we will no longer be able to bring updates and publish new articles, we are working to ensure that all 400 or so Memos that have been released in the last eight years will remain accessible on the website.

Furthermore, we will be accepting submissions to the end of March. We therefore encourage anyone who wants to share their research findings and critical analyses on a present-day issue in contemporary Asia to do so at their earliest convenience and join the long list of contributors who have helped make the APM such a success. Please send drafts that address a clear question and fits our 350-word format to asiapacificmemo@gmail.com after having carefully gone over all the submission guidelines.

Once more, thank you for a wonderful eight years, and we hope to see you in the digital and the analog worlds in the future.

-The entire APM team
